To bring this about, our Summer Camp program has developed three goals:
1. To support, encourage, and bring each child into a closer relationship with Jesus.

2. To support and encourage Christian relationships of brotherhood and sisterhood among the campers as well as between the campers and the staff. Our Child Protection Policy guides our right-relating.

3. To provide an opportunity for the children to have fun (and lots of it!) with their fellow campers and older brothers and sisters on staff.
What makes our summer camp program unique?

· Camper to staff ratio (virtually 1 to 1)

· Ecumenical: We have Protestants, Catholic, and Orthodox traditions represented at camp

· Charismatic: We pray over the campers to be baptized in the Holy Spirit. The charismatic gifts are used throughout the week at camp.

· Inter-generational: We have grandparents, parents, college students, and high school students on our summer camp staff. Simply put, our summer camp feels like a large extended family.
ABOUT CAMP

The Work of Christ Summer Camp program began in 1979 as a week-long summer camp experience to help parents in the Work of Christ Community bring their children into a relationship with Jesus Christ, bring them into the full life of the Holy Spirit, and give them a vision for covenant ecumenical charismatic Christian community.

Our camp is a Christian camp with a unique charismatic spiritual emphasis. We encourage the children to pray out loud, sing songs, raise hands in worship, and to use the gifts of the Spirit such as tongues and prophecy. Each year we have a camp theme, along with daily scriptures that the children are asked to memorize.

Our weeklong summer camp for current 3rd through 6th grade boys and girls will continue to serve all the Sword of the Spirit communities in Michigan, and, as space permits, other outside guests. We will continue to use the facilities at Camp Concordia in Gowen, Michigan. Camp is staffed by a mix of parents along with college and high school-aged folks, some of whom were campers themselves. This brings a real community flavor to camp.
You can serve us (and your children) by praying for camp. We believe more strongly than ever that the power of prayer has a significant impact on the success of summer camp. Pray and expect God to work.
