Camp '25 Staff Application period will be open from December 5th, 2024 through December 22nd.
Summer Camp Staff
Since 1979 the Work of Christ has held a week-long residential camping program staffed by high-schoolers, college students, adult singles, moms and dads, and even grandparents. All staff meet regulatory background inspections, required certifications, and are trained in the power of prayer. Staff are required to be in good standing and attendance within both their church and their respective affiliate Christian communities. Our staff continually strives to maintain a habit of daily prayer and a pursuit of a deeper relationship with Christ.

Bridging the generational gap through service,
side by side
Carrie
As first time on staff, I had an amazing time. I rekindled old friendships, formed new ones, and got to know the Lord in a better way. The kids are fantastic and working with them brings me such joy! if you are even pondering the idea, apply! You won't regret it!
Matthew
The amazing part about this camp specifically is that no matter what your role is at camp, you are constantly able to have intense prayer and powerful words from God. While the main focus is of course the campers, God is present for all to experience. If you don’t want to have a personal relationship with God, this camp probably isn’t for you, because He comes into everyone’s heart there.

Camp was always fun to me as a camper but as a staffer it's so different. You receive the chance to strengthen your relationship with God through service, and in doing so you can grow close to the kids and watch as they grow in their relationship with Christ and that's so amazing to see.
Franco
This camp is very special to me since I’ve seen how each and every camper was deeply touched by the Holy Spirit and the way all the volunteers served with joy and love despite being outside of their comfort zones. It’s as close to heaven as anybody could experience!
Laura
This summer camp is an amazing experience for all the campers. they get to strengthen not only relationships with each other and adults but with God our savior. when I was a camper I loved it so much and I was so excited to be old enough to be on staff when I got to high school. Now that I've been on staff I can truly see children's relationship with the Lord change and they receive gifts of the Holy Spirit that is unforgettable.
Cliff
It was amazing how much work is involved from the top to the bottom of the organization. It was very organized. The service is very self fulfilling.

I am never not thinking about camp. All year, I'm eagerly awaiting the application email, then checking the mail for the staff list, counting down to training day, making decorations and praying for my cabin, setting up the cabin, and finally, I'm at camp! And then we start again. Summer camp is the closest to Heaven I have been and will ever be on Earth. Summer camp is where I connect with my greatest, closest friends, where I walk with God, and where I get to do the most beautiful task ever created: I get to guide Jesus' children into relationships with Him. I get to plant seeds in their hearts that I know will grow and grow into the beautiful gardens I now encounter in my fellow staffers. I love camp with so much of my being, it's unbelievable.

This camp is (truly) livin' for Jesus! The Work of Christ Summer Camp has profoundly touched the lives of thousands of kids since 1979. Every year we weave one of the 4 Spiritual Laws into a hilarious day theme and bible study, with fun activities galore. By day four most kids are on their knees, asking Jesus into their life and seeking the indwelling of the Holy Spirit a deeper level. They go home having met many new friends, and with deeper Charismatic zeal for Christ. Fun happens, prayers are answered and lives are forever changed. Here's an awesome fact: most staffers at this camp are former campers passing on with joy what they have received when they were campers. One thing very special about this camp is the ban on electronic gadgets. Kids are free to just be kids for a whole week!

This camp is very unique compared to other camps, because of the atmosphere of belonging. Compared to other camps, this is a co-ed camp, and a very diverse camp. Although, we have one thing in common, we are ALL part of ONE big family. This is because we are all servants and children of The Lord. And through this, we are able to show that will our love, teachings, and the way we interact with each other at camp. I believe that this camp makes everyone feel at home and as if we are all just one big family. I have never heard about someone not feeling like they do not belong, and I think it is because of the inclusiveness of everyone. Everyone is always included no matter what activity it is, and I appreciate it.

I know there are many older adults who may see serving at camp too overwhelming or difficult but I would really encourage them to think and pray about it. This camp needs mom's and dad's with parenting experience and that ability to nurture that maybe high school and UCO haven't learned yet. It's so awesome to see and experience the trans-generation aspect of camp when high school, UCO and adults come together to serve these children. Above all, God is at work so powerfully in these kids and to see it and experience it first hand is incredible. On top of that, God is at work in us as adults while we serve at camp and I think sometimes we don't expect that or look for that. Serving at camp may be just what God has in store for your faith!
Matt
Last year, I received an overwhelming call from God through many of my friends at UCO to serve at the WOC summer camp. It was something I had always heard I would not regret doing. I decided to apply, and God used me to my fullest throughout it. Seeing the children grow in faith and maturity helped me nurture my own faith, and the relationships I founded were planted in rich soil that have since then blessed me in so many ways. I crave the experience again and hope to see how God will work through the staff, campers, and myself again!
Rebecca
Work of Christ Summer Camp is a place where kids can come together and strengthen old friendships and create new ones all while growing closer to Jesus. They receive baptism in the Holy Spirit and are able to praise the Lord as young children with many others who believe the same thing. These relationships are cultivated through the interaction of high schoolers, college students, and adults of all ages. It's almost like a family coming together for a little foretaste of heaven!
Stephen
The level of care for the kids at this camp is evident through the planning, training and camp week through and through. The amount of resources allocated to this week are almost ridiculous. If anything, it might be over-staffed. Other summer camps I’ve staffed with didn’t have the personnel or activity resources to give even a fraction of the personal attention we’re able to give the kids at the Work of Christ camp.
Laura
The Work Of Christ Summer Camp is a wonderful opportunity to serve God by serving his people, the children in or linked to communities. Those children are the leaders of the future. It is such a joy and a blessing to see the joy and excitement of everyone at summer camp, both young people and staff alike. the atmosphere is wonderful and the presence of God and the Holy Spirit is evident. It's a very special place, it's a blessing to be a part of it.
Rick
Our trans-generational model of camp staff is unique as it brings into camp high school through retired men and women who build a 'family' style Christian environment for the kids. The kids are in 'trans-generational' cabin settings that have 3rd through 6th graders relating as brothers or sisters with high school and college or post college adults in the cabins caring for and leading the kids
Rachel
I loved Work of Christ Camp as a camper, but as a staffer, I LIVE FOR IT. Camp is the best week of my entire year. When I was a kid, I had fun being away from my parents with good, Christian people for a week. Now, I'm even more able to see the immeasurable gift of spending a week making deep, lasting friendships with staffers and with God, and helping kids to grow in relationships with each other, with me, and with Jesus. Camp is such a fun, holy, safe place. I know I can trust my fellow staff to respect, help, and love me. My body is in Ann Arbor, but my heart is forever in Camp Concordia.
